Suntan Construction started in 2008 as a firm that mostly did tanning salons. Having started in the tanning bed repair industry in 2000. In 2008 Kevin Bell, the owner, began to take on build outs of salons and the specific construction challenges around the tanning salon industry.
Suntan construction soon began to break out into other projects in the retail space. Completing many different types of buildouts as time has passed. In recent years, Suntan found its way out of the retail market and into standalone projects as well. Liquor stores, gas stations and other new construction projects are now the normal for us.
Kevin McCullough joined the team in 2006 bringing electrical knowledge and construction supervision to the team. John Stewart joined the team in 2025 as Suntan Constructions COO bringing forty years of construction industry knowledge to the team. Together Kevin, Kevin McCullogh and John have a wealth of knowledge in regards to any type of project. Each brings specialty trades into the mix while all are seasoned construction professionals.

Kevin started in the industry in 2000. Specializing in tanning beds, tanning bed repairs and tanning salon construction. Kevin holds the GC licenses for the company In Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. Kevin is the founder of both Suntan Construction and Suntan Repair. He is passionate about building a company that seeks the true essence of the clients’ needs. Kevin always seeks for it to be a win-win-win. Win for the client, win for us the GC and a win for our subcontractors. Kevin also is a husband, father, and pilot. Bringing that same strong passion for doing it right into every aspect of his life. He will also race you down the slopes on a snowboard if he gets the chance.
John Stewart
Electrician
John began his career in the electrical industry in the mid-1980s, quickly earning his unrestricted electrical contractor’s license in Georgia and going on to become licensed in eleven states across the Southeast. In the 1990s, he expanded into general contracting, taking on projects of every size and scope.

Kevin started in the electrical industry in the early 2000’s. Rising in his career as an electrician during those early years. Kevin also switched to the GC side of life ten years into his career. Taking on projects where not only his electrical knowledge helped him manage the work but also understanding technical challenges of being a general contractor. As Kevin joined the Suntan construction family back in 2006, he brought that world in with Keving Bell helping the company grow in new directions. Kevin is now the Operations Manager for Suntan Construction and is very involved with each and every project we do. Enforcing quality and code standards to ensure we go above and beyond on each project. Kevin is a husband and enjoys motorcycle riding every chance he gets.
